Kari here, the founder and owner of this little ice cream shop. I'm a big fan of our corner of Fort Worth, the Southside. It's where I live, work, and play. I don't think that Valentine's has to just be about couples and romance, I'm all for meeting up with my gal pals for some much needed brunch and hang time. Here's where I would go if I were planning to be hanging with my ladies for this Galentine's weekend:
Valentine's Day. It's exciting, it's intimidating, it's warm and fuzzy, it's depressing...there's kind of a lot going on emotionally here. But whatever your feelings concerning this holiday may be, we can all agree on one adjective for it: Valentine's Day is sweet. And we all know no one does sweet quite like MELT.
Since introducing Coconut Horchata, a current vegan option at MELT, we’ve sort of fallen in love with the drink that inspired it. This traditional beverage can be made in several different ways, but the classic version which our ice cream is based on is a sweet mix of cinnamon and rice milk. Arika, our manager, a big part of our MELT family over the past year and a half, is transitioning into a new stage of life. She has been invested, hard-working, and helpful, and always filled up our shop with smiles. Although her last day isn't for a while, we are already missing her. We will be looking for an awesome new candidate, check out all the details inside!

MELT is so proud to be a part of Fort Worth. The strong community and the heart of the people who live here inspire everything we do, and we love to watch you guys succeed. That's why we wanted to take a second this morning to celebrate Fort Worth native Leon Bridges' GRAMMY NOMINATION!!
Some people feel this need to box up and constrain ice cream as strictly a summer dessert. Which we get. Hot weather and cold scoops are sort of an amazing combination. But we would like to propose that there is no "bad ice cream weather". Winter's celebrations and comfy fireplace days can make a pretty fantastic backdrop for a MELT pint or two, and many of the comfort foods this season requires can be improved with a scoop of ice cream.
Thanksgiving is a holiday near and dear to MELT's heart. We believe in growing relationships, in celebrating life and community, and definitely in good food. We are thankful for so much right now, but we wanted to take this short moment to express our gratefulness to all of our customers.

The 1st Annual MELT Fall Family picnic is in the books, and it was a beautiful night of chili, laughter, pumpkin painting, and celebration! We love being a team that parties together, and we love how our enjoyment of each other makes us even better at partying with you guys!
The beginning of school is a special time of year. A schedule full of classes and learning opportunities that are new enough to still sound fun, getting to be back around friends every day, and, for parents, the bonus of some much needed free time while the kids are out of the house.
Taco Tuesday...do you remember buying chocotacos after school at the convenient store? I do, and I loved them, with their nutty goodness falling off all over the place. This nostalgia, along with the fact that we live in Tex-mex country and tacos abound, led us to Taco Tuesdays. Every Tuesday, we top a waffle taco with two scoops of ice cream drizzled with caramel, chocolate sauce, and whipped cream!
